Creating a Trade

There are several ways to create a new trade in EdgeBook:

Method 1: Click the + Button

Click the + New Trade button in the top navigation bar to open the trade creation modal.

Method 2: Drag and Drop

Drag a chart screenshot directly onto the trades area. EdgeBook will create a new trade with that image attached.

Method 3: Paste from Clipboard

Copy a screenshot to your clipboard and press Ctrl+V (or Cmd+V on Mac) anywhere in the app. A new trade will be created with the pasted image.

Trade Details

When creating a trade, you can fill in the following information:
  • Title - A descriptive name for your trade (e.g., “NVDA breakout from consolidation”)
  • Symbol - The ticker symbol (e.g., AAPL, /ES, BTCUSD)
  • Date - When the trade was taken
  • Direction - Long or Short
  • Result - Win, Loss, Breakeven, or Open
  • Rating - 1-5 stars to rate trade quality
  • Workflow Status - Your custom statuses (e.g., “To Review”, “Reviewed”)
  • Execution Type - Real, Paper, or Watched
  • Tags - Add multiple tags for categorization
  • Strategy/Setup - Link to a specific setup from your strategies
  • Trader - If tracking multiple traders or accounts

Adding Notes

The notes section uses a rich text editor with full formatting support:
  • Bold, italic, strikethrough
  • Bullet and numbered lists
  • Checklists for review items
  • Headers for organization
Use Note Templates to maintain consistent structure across all your trade notes. Access templates from the dropdown in the notes editor.

Adding Charts

Attach chart screenshots to document your trade:
  1. Click the + Add Image button
  2. Select images from your computer, or drag and drop
  3. Reorder images by dragging thumbnails
  4. Click any image to view full-screen with zoom
You can annotate your charts after uploading. Click the edit icon on any image to open the annotation editor.

Saving Your Trade

Click Save to create the trade. You can always edit it later by clicking on the trade card to open the detail view.
